23/5/2007 Giant Jabberwocky terrorises town!

Along with our shadow puppet suitcase show Rough Magic also took our giant Jabberwocky puppet to the main parade at Blackpool’s “Puppet Up! 2007” festival. Built by RMT’s Collette Knowles for Bentham Theatre Group’s “Sleeping Beauty”, this massive puppet originally required six people to operate! After being renovated for “Puppet Up!” this was cut to two with the aid of a specially constructed backpack.

The Jabberwocky enjoyed his day out immensely, fighting with a knight in armour and terrorising the populace. In fact he enjoyed himself so much that he’s written a “blog” about it that can be found, along with photos of the event, at his MySpace page .
